All seminars will be held at the UC Clermont Park 50 TechneCenter, 502 TechneCenter Drive Suite G,  in Milford. These workshops are sponsored by the University of Cincinnati Clermont College.

COURSE DESCRIPTION


CPR and AED:
American Heart Association guidelines for
1 rescuer CPR, adult and child
2 rescuers CPR, adult and child
Mouth to mask
Bag valve mask
Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
Conscious choking adult, child and infant
Unconscious choking adult, child and infant
Infant one and two rescuer CPR
Chain of survival for adults
Chain of survival for infants                                                                                             Cost is $20.00
Instructor:
Carolyn Vining, REMTP, EMSI, is a field service instructor for the paramedic program at UC Clermont College.

Child Abuse Identification & Reporting: The instruction shall include, but not be limited to, revised code section and administrative code rules pertaining to child abuse and neglect including definitions, reporting, and confidentiality requirements; the physical and behavioral indicators of child abuse and neglect, both intrafamilial and out of home; reporting – when, how, whom immunity, penalty for failure to report and system development for center; investigation and role of the public children services agency; information –sharing concerning the disposition of report to reporting source, licensing agency, law enforcement agency, central registry, and court; helping families who have problems with child abuse and neglect, prevention of child abuse and neglect in day care, including staff training, staff supervision policies and procedures, and handling of discipline. Cost is $30.00                                                Instructor: Mark Eling, MSW.
 

First Aid: Skills for responding and managing first aid incidents until the life squad arrives. Covered in the class is bleeding control, shock management, splinting, spinal immobilization, bloodborne pathogens, scene safety, communication with EMS and any necessary documentation. Medical problems with breathing issues, seizures, allergic reactions, poisoning, cold and hot emergencies and environmental issues also are covered.       Cost is $20.00
