The ORCC ALL League First Team was rounded out by several area players: Curtis Blank, Steve Adams and Damien Hannah, sophomores from Miami/Hamilton and Phillip Dickerson (F) and Joe Becker (Sr) from Miami/Middletown.
COUGAR PLAYERS GATHER FOR SPRING BANQUET May 28, 2008
The Clermont Cougar Baseball, Softball and Golf teams held their Annual Spring Sports Banquet onMay 28, 2008at the Clermont College Student Lounge.The Cougar Baseball team, fresh off their inaugural season, were able to present Brian Sullivan, Athletic Director, with the ORCC Tournament Runners Up Trophy, to be added to the College’s trophy Case.
Head Coach Joe Spriggs promised Brian the 1stplace trophy would soon follow, as well as the USCAA National Trophy.Mr. Sullivan vowed to hold Spriggs to his word.
Team awards went to the following: Defensive Player of 2008 – Derek Cooper (2ndbase, freshman/Milford) Offensive Player of 2008 – Nic Costanzo (1stbase, freshman/Mariemont) Starting Pitcher of 2008 – Shawn Howser (Jr/Western Brown) Relief Pitcher of 2008 – Ryan Stang (fresh/Colerain)

TONY WEBER COMMITS TO CLERMONT BASEBALL May 23, 2008
Mt. Healthy Senior Tony Weber (IF) has committed to attend Clermont College and play baseball for the Cougars for the 2008-2009 school year.Tony hit .370 and was named First Team FAVC Scarlet Division.Toney set the single season fielding record at Mt. Healthy with a .988 fielding percentage.Tony will add depth to the Cougar infield in 2009.
JESSE JOHNSON LOOKS TO SETTLE INTO COUGAR INFIELD IN 2009 May 23, 2008
The Clermont Cougars have announced the commitment of senior Jesse Johnson (IF) from Milford HS.Johnson collected 30 hits and 20 RBIs for the Eagles, posting a .357 average.Cougar Head Coach Joe Spriggs believes Johnson will have an immediate impact on the Cougar lineup when play begins next year.“We are thrilled to have Jesse with us” says Spriggs, “He is a baseball player who loves playing the game.”
TRIO FROM GLEN ESTE HS COMMIT TO COUGARS

The Clermont Cougars Baseball program is proud to announce the addition of three Glen Este HS Seniors to the Clermont College 2008-2009 Freshman Class.Catcher Kenny Jeffers has been one of the team’s most coveted recruits this year.After suffering a slight ACL injury during Spring workouts, Kenny made a full recovery and remained at the top of the Cougars list.He will hone his skills over the summer playing for the American Legion Post 72 team and the Cougars coaching staff sees Jeffers easily filling the cleats of the departing Rob Ball.
The second Trojan addition will be OF Andrew “Drew” Horde.Horde hit a team-leading five home runs and will bring his left-handed power to a Cougar team who only had 1 left-handed hitter in their 2008 lineup.The Cougar Coaching Staff are excited at the addition of this lefty.
Last, but certainly not least, is RHP Tyler Marshall. Tyler led the Trojan pitching staff in ERA this year at 1.05.After a season ender that left the Cougars thin in the pitching department, Tyler’s skills will be a welcome addition to the bullpen.
ALEX FISLER TO JOIN COUGARS IN 2009 May 23, 2008
Batavia Senior Alex Fisler has decided to join the Clermont Cougar Baseball team in 2009.Alex is a versatile player who is currently hitting .323 for the Sectional Champion Batavia Bulldogs.The Cougar Coaching staff is very excited about this addition to our baseball program.
