The Cougar Coaching staff have been busy during the off-season, recruiting new players.  They have now landed three outstanding LH pitching prospects to their 2009 pitching staff.

James Pulskamp, a 2008 graduate from Amelia High School has committed to the Cougars.  Jimmy has ties to former Amelia, and current Cougar, coaches Jack Harbison and Bill Scott.  He will definitely add some left-handed punch to the Cougars pitching line-up.  This past spring, Jimmy had 22 strikeouts in 19 innings of work for the Barons.

Transferring from Xavier University is former Loveland standout, Nate Hirsch (2007).  Nate wasLoveland’s ace in 2007, where he grabbed Most Valuable Pitcher honors, as well as being named to the FAVC All League 1st Team.  Expected to be a huge addition to the Cougar pitching staff in 2009, Nate is slated for a starting role.  Pitching Coach Bill Scott is elated with this addition.

Finally, another transfer will be joining the Cougars.  Former Mason Lefthander Justin Krause (2006) will be transferring to Clermont College from Sinclair Community College.  Kraus had an excellent career with Mason and also pitched with recent Clermont Transfer Ryan Fulton on the 2006 Team Ohio Battle of the States team, coached by assistant Cougar Coach, Dino Costanzo.  Justin threw 8 shutout innings in that tournament and Coach Costanzo watched him through another 8-0, 7 inning shutout this past week in the South West Ohio College League.  Justin is expected to have a starting role in 2009.  The Cougar Staff welcomes these fine additions to the team.

Catcher/Outfielder DJ Seaman (07 Turpin Grad) will be transferring to Clermont from Wright StateUniversity.  DJ hit over .300 and was the starting catcher for Turpin in both his junior and senior years.  His speed makes him a versatile option for the 2009 Cougar outfield.  Coach Spriggs says DJ is a solid player and a great addition to the Cougar team.

Finally, Andrew Yokely is transferring to Clermont from Austin Peay State University (Clarksville, TN). Andrew is a speedy catcher/outfielder with a strong arm and will bring much-needed depth to the Clermont Cougar baseball team.
