The Duke Energy Summer STEM Academy is a one-week, hands-on program designed to acquaint students with a variety of STEM careers and educational options. The program is open to Clermont County students who are 13, 14 or 15 years old.
STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Subjects for the UC Clermont program include high-tech design, biology, chemistry, energy, geology, health/medicine, information technology, math and physics.
In addition to classroom activities and team projects, students also will visit the Duke Energy Envision Center and other local business partners to see STEM careers first-hand.
The pilot program is open to 24 students. When the program has closed, students who apply will be included on a wait list, if desired, in the order their applications were received.
