Writing

What is Writing?

Writing is a skill that is valuable in almost every career and every walk of life. The ability to write clearly and concisely, to communicate effectively with people, can set you above your peers and open doors of opportunity that would never otherwise appear.

Success Factors

A successful writer is able to express ideas clearly and logically and should love to write. Creativity, curiosity, a broad range of knowledge, self-motivation and perseverance also are valuable. You must demonstrate good judgment and a strong sense of ethics. You also need tact and the ability to guide and encourage others in their work. For some jobs, the ability to concentrate amid confusion and to work under pressure are essential.

Career Possibilities

A certificate in writing adds to your credentials for any career. The ability to write well opens many doors of employment and promotion opportunities.

UC Advantages and Special Opportunities

The UC Clermont campus is on 92 wooded acres located in Batavia, Ohio, in the heart of Clermont County. We are relatively small and our faculty-to-student ratio is low. You will find small size and personal interaction with your instructors create the ideal learning environment. Parking is convenient and at no additional charge. Plus, our tuition is the lowest of the UC colleges.

Freshman Admission Requirements

This program is open to all students with a high school diploma or GED who have completed their English composition course series. Although admission is open, students accepted into the program must meet the academic standards of the program to advance to upper levels of study.

Application Deadlines

UC Clermont College is an open admission campus. Students may begin es in any semester. Each semester has an application deadline of approximately four weeks before es begin to allow for timely paperwork and financial aid processing. The University of Cincinnati and all regional campuses are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
