At the University of Cincinnati Clermont College, we are committed to your success. The placement test is an important part of that commitment and is designed to help you and your advisor choose classes that will meet your educational needs.
Upon admission to Clermont College, all degree seeking students are required to take a Placement Test before enrolling in any math or English courses. Students who receive transfer credit for college-level math or college-level English courses do not need to take the placement test. Non-degree seeking students will only be required to take the test if registering for an English or Math course.
The placement test consists of three parts - English, Mathematics, and Reading. Only certain programs require the Keyboarding test. Students who need the Keyboarding test can take it the same day or schedule for another day. (*In order to take the English Essay portion online, students must complete their admissions process prior to scheduling a test date.)
Please note: Pre-Raymond Walters College nursing students are required to take an additional ASSET test of numerical skills. When making a reservation, please advise if you are a Pre-Raymond Walters College nursing student.
We also offer a Foreign Language Placement Test to students who would like to test their skills in French, German or Spanish. Students may take a foreign language placement test on any of the scheduled dates below. Please mention that you will be taking the foreign language portion and which one when making your reservation.

Tuesday, April 6th thru August 31st at 9:00 am - Walk-in Days** **Walk-in days - The test will be administered on a first come, first serve basis. There will be 4 seats availalbe for walk-ins. Tester must report to Snyder 166 by 9:00 am on Tuesdays.

Report to Snyder room 166 for testing and allow approximately 3 - 4 hours. Please arrive promptly so that testing may begin at the scheduled time. For directions to campus or for a campus map, please click here.
We recommend that you park in the East Parking lot in any of the white-lined spaces.
There is no fee to take the test.
Photo identification is required.
Results
You will receive your Keyboarding, Mathematics and Reading results immediately. All other results will be sent to you in the mail.
Your Math Placement Score is valid for one year and your English Course Placement is valid for two years. If you do not register for a Math and/or English course within those time frames, you will be required to retake the portion of the test that expired.
