At the University of Cincinnati Clermont College, we are committed to your success. The placement test is an important part of that commitment and is designed to help you and your advisor choose classes that will meet your educational needs.
Upon admission to Clermont College, all degree seeking students are required to take a Placement Test. Non-degree seeking students will only be required to take the test if registering for an English or Math course.
The placement test consists of four parts - English*, Keyboarding, Mathematics, and Reading. *The online English test is available only to students who have completed the enrollment process (ie. applied for admission, received an acceptance letter and returned the confirmation form).
We also offer a Foreign Language Placement Test to students who would like to test their skills in French, German or Spanish. To schedule a date to take this test, please call (513) 732-5219 for additional information.
Test Dates
The placement test will be offered on the following days and times during July & August. Please note that a reservation is still required for the dates below (with the exception of drop-in hours).

**On these dates, students may walk-in anytime during the drop-in hour. The test will be administered on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations will not be taken for drop-in hours.
Reservations
To make arrangements to take the test on one of the scheduled, non drop-in dates, please contact the Assessment & Testing Center by phone (513) 732-5219 or e-mail Clermont.Assessment@uc.edu. A staff member will contact you to confirm your reservation. Please include the following information:

***Please note: Pre-Raymond Walters College nursing students are required to take an additional test of numerical skills. When making a reservation, please advise if you are a Pre-Raymond Walters College nursing student.
Important Information
Report to Snyder room 166 for testing and allow approximately 3 - 4 hours. Please arrive promptly so that testing may begin at the scheduled time. For directions to campus or for a campus map, please click here.
We recommend that you park in the East Parking lot in any of the white-lined spaces.
There is no fee to take the test.
Photo identification is required.
Results
You will receive your Keyboarding, Mathematics and Reading results immediately. All other results will be sent to you in the mail.
Please Note: Your Math Placement Score is valid for one year and your English Course Placement is valid for two years. If you do not register for a Math and/or English course within those time frames, you will be required to retake the portion of the test that expired.
