Getting Started at UC Clermont

Admission

Prospective students may be admitted to UC Clermont to pursue a degree provided they have graduated from an accredited high school or have successfully completed the requirements for a GED High School Equivalency Certificate. Home schooled students should contact the Office of Admissions for admission requirements.

Step-by-Step Procedure

1) Apply Online
 • Be sure to indicate the quarter and year you plan to start, as well as the major and major code you wish to pursue.
• Review the application to make certain you have completed all sections and mail or bring it to the UC Clermont Office of Admissions located in the Student Services Building.
• Submit a $40 non-refundable Application Fee. The fee is payable to the University of Cincinnati by check or money order.

2) Submit Transcripts.
• It is your responsibility to contact your high school and any other colleges that you have attended, other than UC, and request that official transcripts are sent directly to the UC Clermont Office of Admissions.
• GED recipients are required to submit a copy of their GED scores.
• The ACT or SAT is not required for admission; however, these tests are strongly recommended for those students interested in the Cincinnatus Scholarship competition.

3) Receive acceptance letter.
• Complete the Supplemental Information Form (matriculation form) that is included with the acceptance letter. The return of this form completes the admission process. You are then considered a matriculated student in your chosen program. First time, full-time students are assessed a $50 matriculation fee. The fee can be billed to  your account if you have applied for financial aid.

4) Take Placement Test
• Once you have confirmed your acceptance, you can make arrangements to take your placement test by calling 513-732-5219. The test is administered by Enrollment Services without charge. These placement tests do not affect admission; however, the results are essential for placement in classes. Once you have completed your placement test, you will be invited to orientation for advising and registration.

Non-Degree/ Noncredit Students

Those students not wishing to earn a degree at UC Clermont are not required to follow the above procedures. Non-degree students may register for courses, provided any course prerequisites have been met. Before registering for English Composition or college level math, a student must meet the prerequisite of placement testing.

Certificate Seeking Students

UC Clermont offers several interesting and beneficial certificate programs. Certificate programs are non-degree programs and as a result are not eligible for financial aid assistance. Applications for these programs are available in Enrollment Services. Questions regarding this can be directed to Enrollment Services at 513-732-5300.
